Retzlaff Winery | Livermore Wedding

April and Laura–these two are so super cool! They contacted us maybe a month before they planned to exchange vows and we walked away from our coffee meetup amazed and energized. April has a fascinating career studying sex in space(!) with NASA. Laura is a science teacher (one we both wish we’d had!) and shows dogs. In fact, they wanted to prepare us for the fact that their 8 (EIGHT!) golden retrievers would be part of the ceremony! Thankfully, Bryn is a dog lover, so she was ready to help those puppies shine on film!

When we met, they told us the sweetest story about how they found each other completely by accident. April was perusing an online dating site and put in a geographical radius far further than she intended. As she scanned the results, she came across Laura and just knew they were meant to meet. Sheesh! These stories give us chills!!

They planned an absolutely lovely day at one of our favorite wineries in Livermore, Retzlaff Vineyards. This place is so great. They have INCREDIBLE wines. (Seriously–the best.) Their grounds are beautiful, and the huge lawn is such a great place to bring a picnic and let kids run wild. Oh, and it’s literally in Brooke’s neighborhood–gotta love gigs that are within walking distance!

Some of our favorites from this wedding? April’s gown! It was so lovely. And she made it look damn good! Did we mention she’s also a Jazzercise instructor?! Food truck catering by Savorie Streets. We love a good food truck! Puppy cuteness, puppy chaos, puppy love! And best of all–a Jazzercize inspired dance party under Retzlaff’s gorgeous market lights! Such a beautiful, joy-filled day.
