Berkeley Marina Engagement

We first met Casey and Gil at a Peet’s in downtown Livermore. Casey teaches kids while going to school in the evenings – yes, she’s an actual saint. Aside from Casey, Gil has a few other loves – including his boat and his cars. So it was fitting that we took their engagement photos at the Berkeley Marina, classic car in tow (don’t worry, it wasn’t literally towed). We love a good prop, and this was the mother of all props.

The weather leading up to the shoot was not your typical California day by any stretch. There was rain, wind and all sorts of clouds. But we crossed our fingers and headed to the Marina anyways. And sure enough, the sun came out.

You know that saying? Where they say, “you can’t have a rainbow without rain” – or something like that. Well, the same is true for amaze-balls clouds. Yes, gorgeous, clear blue skies and sun are always nice, but crazy clouds are awesome too.
